Press Release: AMEA Power signs an agreement with SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co. to cooperate on the development of solar, wind and green hydrogen projects in MENA

Dubai, UAE March 21st, 2022 AMEA Power announced today that it has signed an agreement with SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. (HHDC), to cooperate on the development of renewable energy initiatives, including solar, wind and green hydrogen projects in MENA.

Mohamed AlNowais, Managing Director of AMEA Power, and Yu Miao, Deputy General Manager of HHDC signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), during a ceremony that took place in the China Pavilion during Expo 2020 in Dubai.


Mohamed AlNowais, Managing Director of AMEA Power said, “We are delighted to announce the signing of this significant agreement, which reinforces the commitment of both AMEA Power and HHDC towards carbon reduction. AMEA Power continues to grow and today we are proud to be present in over 15 countries, with a total capacity of about 2,000MW of solar and wind projects in operation, under construction and in development. This agreement is a great milestone for AMEA Power as we are expanding into green hydrogen production, which is a key component of decarbonisation strategies.
We look forward to working closely with HHDC on initiatives to drive the development of solar, wind and green hydrogen projects across MENA region.”
 
Yu Miao, Deputy General Manager of HHDC said, We are delighted to sign the MoU with AMEA Power to cooperate on the development of clean energy and green hydrogen projects in MENA region. HHDC is a clean energy enterprise committed to strengthening green international cooperation and promoting global lowcarbon transition, with a total installed capacity of about 27.3GW and renewable energy accounts for about 90%. We look forward to a close collaboration with AMEA Power on initiatives to boost the development of renewable energy and green hydrogen production in MENA region.
