Position Purpose
Support the Legal Director and Legal Manager in providing the legal function. Deal with a broad range of work from transaction and document management, commercial contract drafting; company secretarial, risk management and other legal matters as they arise.


  • Manage documentation in relation to corporate entities, including drafting board resolutions, meeting minutes, committee meeting notes
  • Contract management (including maintaining contract database and ensuring all legal documents are properly filed and maintained)

Legal Documentation

  • Prepare and/or review basic legal documentation, including non-disclosure agreements, consultancy agreements, MOUs and JDAs
  • Manage CPs at financial close
  • Research and advise on particular legal issues as requested  
  • Research legal systems of project countries and project related laws
  • Assist in legal due diligence (review and administrative function)
  • Review legal engagement letters and audit legal invoices
  • Translation of complex techno-commercial Arabic documents
  • Compilation of summary for senior management review

Compliance Support

  • Compliance and administration support functions, reporting to senior management (can include World Check, other research)
  • Compilation and submission of Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation for entities in various jurisdictions
  • Filing of required information for underlying companies and assets with authorities

Best Practice

  • Raise awareness of potential legal issues arising through the company
  • Reduce legal exposure for the company
  • Support with corporate governance (contract approvals procedure, authority matrix, policies and procedures)


  • Conduct legal research and provide memoranda and legal advice as and when required by the company
  • Provide a legal administrative function to the company in addition to ad hoc work
Person Specification

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 2-4 years PQE (or equivalent outside UK)
  • Professional exposure to private equity and/or energy sector
Minimum Education Requirements
  • Professional legal qualification
  • Bachelors degree minimum;  
  • Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or equivalent educational certifications
