Manager – QHSE

Reporting to Head of Environmental, social, and governance (ESG)
Position Purpose
The Site QHSE Manager will be responsible for manage all QHSE aspects on site, including quality, occupational health and safety, environmental, social and security, according to Corporate QHSE Policies, local legal framework and the relevant International standards. The Site QHSE Manager will report directly to the Corporate Head of ESG and will give day to day support to the Site Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and audit QHSE compliance across the site
  • Perform site HSE inspections and audits
  • Identify hazards, carrying out risk assessments, and ensuring subsequent corrective actions are implemented
  • Investigate all accident/incident/near miss may occur on site and report to the relevant functional heads
  • Collect monthly QHSE Statistics and carry out analysis of trends and performances
  • Supervise the Contractor activity and ensure the implementation of the corrective and preventive actions
  • Carry out training of staff members, including toolbox talks
  • Review management plans issued by the Contractor and provide support for their completion
  • Support the Project team and engage with local stakeholders on all the QHSE aspects

Experience Requirements

  • Proven in depth knowledge of National HSE legislation and International Standards
  • Proven in depth knowledge of National HSE legislation and International Standards
  • Understand culture sensitivities of the communities around the Project location
  • Knowledge of implementation and application of ISO 14001 and 45001
  • Good grounding in the engineering and/or construction industries
  • Strong presentation track record of inspections and audits
  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence stakeholders to gain support at all levels
  • Ability to interpret, extract and analyses QHSE data accurately in order to identifying issues and presenting potential solutions
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a similar role
Education Requirements
  • Any engineering degree (CE,EE & ME or equivalent course)
  • ISO 14001 & 45001 Certified
  • NEBOSH certificate in occupational H&S or equivalent qualification approved by local institutions.
